Hoop Book Live (HBL) is a user-friendly software program that makes the basketball scorebook task less demanding and reduces errors.  HBL is easy to learn, creates extensive game reports for analysis, and with HBL’s online functionality, all game data is synced with our website allowing parents who are unable to make it to the game, the ability to receive updates anywhere.

GREENOLA, 2009 Launch DePaul Winner, Non-Profit/Social Venture Track

A social venture selling women's fair trade, sustainable clothing and accessories online.
Team led by Jennifer Moran (COM ’09)

GREENOLA is a private label boutique, selling online and wholesale. Product mix consists of: handmade Alpaca sweaters, scarves, gloves and hats; sustainable wooden earrings and buttons; organic screen-printed and aplique t-shirts. GREENOLA works directly with five worker-owned sewing cooperatives in Bolivia paying fair wages and supporting Fair Trade principles.  They also work with local US manufacturers whose missions are aligned with GREENOLA.

CareerHook is a one-stop shop for employment agencies to quickly post jobs and screen candidates. CareerHook dynamically tests applicants based on their ability to answer specific questions about the actual job they are applying for and ranks candidates based on the answers. The tests are based on the primary skills required for the job and can be customized to fit a recruiters specific needs.

 

Commuter Advertising, 2008 Launch DePaul Winner

Commuter Advertising is managed by Russell Gottesman, current DePaul MBA student, Katie Gottesman, and Scott McPherson. Commuter Advertising creates, manages, and sells relevant and entertaining advertising spots on trains and buses through partnerships with transit services. They provide advertisers a new media to deliver marketing messages to targeted consumers at relevant locations along transit routes. In return for access to bus and train audio systems, Commuter Advertising shares revenue with budget-strapped transit agencies, relieving commuters of fare hikes and communities of tax increases.
