Launch DePaul

Non-Disclosure Agreement

Launch DePaul organizers take the issue of confidentiality very seriously and take great steps to protect participants’ intellectual property.  All information presented by teams is the property of those respective teams.

Submitted ideas are protected in the spirit of non-disclosure, where all entry materials will be treated as company confidential. The only persons with access to the entry materials will be judges and select members of the organizing committee. Materials will not be distributed to any other party, unless requested by entrant team. No other or special provisions are made to protect intellectual property.  Intra-team confidentiality is the sole responsibility of team members.

While we do not require judges to sign non-disclosure agreements, these people regularly handle confidential material in the course of their business and understand the need to preserve confidentiality of your ideas.  We do request that they respect the participants’ rights as a condition of their participation, but the Organizing Committee will not arbitrate any disputes over judges’ handling of entries.  You are free to exclude any material you feel is truly proprietary and at risk of disclosure.  However, be cautious of excluding material that may harm the appeal of your idea.

The protection of these rights is the ultimate responsibility of each contestant. Contestants are urged to mark as CONFIDENTIAL any portion of their Entries, which they consider to be proprietary, or of a sensitive nature.

Please note that all participants are subject to the DePaul University Code of Ethics as described in the University handbook.

Any additional questions related to the confidentiality of intellectual property may be addressed to the Coleman Center.
